Our Supportability Wheelers project offers weekly cycling opportunities throughout the year for disabled adults, children & young people. The project has a variety of adapted cycles to enable individuals of all abilities to experience and enjoy cycling.
Many of the disabled children and adults who use the project have complex needs. The cycles are specially adapted, so everyone can join in and have fun, whilst getting some healthy exercise!
Why should you volunteer?
This is a great opportunity to meet people, build experience, learn and share your skills and experiences to help the local community. It is a good opportunity to connect and socialise whilst volunteering.
What will I be doing?
- Serving customers at the Tuck shop
- Customer service
- Assisting people with additional disability needs to ride bikes
Who are we looking for?
No experience is necessary except being comfortable chatting with people.
During your application, a DBS (Disclosure Barring Check) may be done depending on your volunteer role. Your volunteer contact will support you with this and a positive disclosure doesn’t necessarily disqualify you from volunteering with is. The DBS is free of charge and will involve filling out an online form and bringing proof of ID.
