We would like to thank all our sponsors, teams and supporters who raised £22,944 for our 31st Annual Golf Day at Heaton Moor Golf Club on Friday 5th July. It’s the highest amount we have ever received for a fundraising event.
This year’s Golf Day was sponsored by Westshield and cosponsored by Cardinal and Ceilings and Interiors, with over 20 teams who took part in the day. As well as making a difference to people’s lives in Stockport, people had the opportunity to raise their business profile, network, and have lots of fun at the same time.
Not only did people enjoy a round of golf in the sunshine, but there was a Disability Golf session, first, second and third team prizes, and prizes for the nearest pin, longest drive and ‘Beat the Pro’. There were also raffle and silent auction items to be won, including Manchester United and City memorabilia, a week at a golf resort in Spain, hampers, John Lewis vouchers and more.
The money raised will go a long way in enabling the people we support to live fulfilled and independent lives. It also gives carers’ the opportunity to have a break from their caring responsibilities and ensure everyone’s health and well-being is maintained.
Some of the things that the money will go towards include a range of activities, themed around for example, music, dance and yoga sessions, days out, arts and crafts materials and more.
After whetting up an appetite, there was a ‘nineteenth hole’ of food, drink and a presentation to finish off the day.
