We are delighted to announce that Johnny has completed 136 miles on his epic walk for Supportability!
One of the people we support, Johnny, loves to walk and walks every day. Throughout October and November, Johnny walked as many miles as he could to raise money for the charity, come rain or shine.
So far we have raised over £300 so we can buy a new games console for our Day Centre, but we are still accepting donations until Tuesday 31st December 2024 so we can buy a couple of games as well.
A new games console will allow the people we support to have access to technology, and Johnny and his friends will be able to play games together.
This is a way for us to step even further into the 21st century and for the people we support to gain more skills.
Gaming has significant benefits for people with disabilities. These include improved wellbeing by creating social connections, enhanced motor skills, improved creativity, better cognitive abilities and problem solving.
