Do you have a Supportability story to share?

We have been supporting people with a range of disabilities since 1953, but our story has never been fully documented or researched before.

Now, thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund, we have the opportunity to explore our history via ‘Celebrating Supportability at 70’, but we can’t do that without you.

Perhaps you have a friend or relative that we have supported in the past? You or a relative worked or the charity, or maybe you know the person in this photograph?

The project will cumulate in a digitised timeline of photographs, documents and audio recordings, as well as a public exhibition and celebration event in 2025.

There will also be themed activities such as heritage walks, music, art and cookery sessions for the people we support and their families and friends.

If you have a story to share, please contact elli.tozer@supportability.org.uk. No amount of detail is too small.

If you don’t have a story to share, there are other ways to get involved. Form sorting through photo slides to assisting the Project Manager with the planning of the exhibition, we have a range of volunteering opportunities available. If you’d like to volunteer, please contact Elli as above.
